Carnival Cruise Line ships frequently visit Amber Cove, along with ships from other Carnival Corporation brands such as Princess Cruises and Holland America Line. The exact ships change by sailing and season, so confirm your specific voyage before making port plans.

Carnival’s Amber Cove destination page lists ships and cruises currently offered for this port. Examples shown in recent listings include Carnival Celebration, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Magic and Carnival Vista. These are examples, not a promise that every sailing on those ships calls at Amber Cove. Princess also has an Amber Cove destination page.

Amber Cove or Taíno Bay?

Both terminals are in the Puerto Plata area. A search result that says “Puerto Plata” may refer to either one. Amber Cove is the Carnival Corporation developed cruise center in Maimón Bay; Taíno Bay is the downtown terminal. The Dominican Republic tourism guide identifies Amber Cove as an entry point in Maimón.

Check the port details in your cruise line app or booking confirmation. If it still says only Puerto Plata, ask the cruise line for the terminal before arranging pickup. The two ports are separate, and showing up at the wrong entrance can cost valuable time.

Does the ship matter for an excursion?

Yes. A good shore excursion plan uses your ship’s arrival and all-aboard times. Tell the operator the ship name, sailing date and terminal when booking. If the ship’s port call changes, contact the operator promptly.
